The Museum of Childhood
The V&A Museum of Childhood is based in London's Bethnal Green, and houses a collection of childhood-related objects and artefacts. They hold monthly evening events, open to all, as part of the TimeOut late night series.
Amelie Labarthe of Puff&Flock gathered together a group of young designers to create an oversized balloon monster for the March 2009 late night. The "Whisp Whisper" creature hovered over the lobby of the museum, speaking magical messages through it's audio tongue (designed by sound and performance artist Miguel Guzman) and providing comfy seating on its cushy balloon feet (designed by Puff&Flock, Vincenzo di Maria, and Bruno Taylor). Visitors could also try on monster features of their own - Elisabeth Buecher brought a collection of wearable handmade dinosaur tails.
